Girls Night, Friday November 21st
A night for teenage girls to watch movies, play games, eat great food, and have lots of fun together! We’re partnering with Whisper of Hope to encourage the girls to express themselves through art. We’re looking forward to a great opportunity to connect with and better understand the lives of the girls coming to spend time with us!
Thanksgiving Celebration, Tuesday November 25th
This Thanksgiving Dinner will be a kick-off to a broader Conversational English Program. Current students and tutors will be there, but we’ll also be inviting new students and tutors to let everyone get to know each other. So, if you’re thinking about being a tutor, be sure to find out more about this event by emailing kim@thesperoproject.com.
Family Portraits, December 7th (3:00p.m.) and 8th (5:30p.m.)
Imagine leaving your home with just the clothes on your back, never to return again. This is the case with so many of the families we meet every day. And we hope to help them recover from this trauma by aiding them in planting deep roots here. One very simple way for us to do this is to offer family portraits. This will be especially important for families with children, but definitely open to all families in the refugee population. We will be taking pictures on-site and then offering the families a free framed photo the following week.
